Thanks, interesting and thorough exposition. I hold that the major problem with psychology today as practiced at the coalface is the endemic inclusion of unvalidated Eastern philosophies. We see this particularly with ACT and mindfulness, which robust studies show to be inefficacious and even harmful. If psychology is to advance and really help humanity, it must cast off Eastern philosophy and engage in far more rigorous study design and assessment.
